SWAN DIVE CAFE
Swan Dive Cafe is owned and operated by the married couple of, Avery Swan & Dylan Dive. Two independently wealthy New York Investors who, craving a more rustic lifestyle decided to settle down in Omensvale. These two characters explore a much more lighter side of the macabre city, observing it from afar through much rosier lenses. The setting is a refreshing respite from the intense darkness that normally enshrouds our characters. So, pull up a chair and order a latte, all are encouraged to visit and write from a more relaxed and comedic perspective where we can poke a little fun at monstrosities lurking around us.
Swan Dive is located in Laketown, on the corner of Windermere Ave. and Elm Street, but there's no nightmare here, not unless you're phobic of 50's & 60's memorabilia. The establishment was made to look like a classic 1950's diner, with a bar and booths featuring retro fitted radios. No expense was spared, no detail missed. People travel from all over the state and beyond to visit the cafe and order one of their famous malts. It's a highly sought part-time job for the local kids of Omensvale High and at any given time the place is frequented by teenagers.
Avery and Dylan aren't always around, often their traveling around the state investigating paranormal occurrences. A hobby that they both enjoy and met through. They also write a weekly column in the Omensvale Oracle called, 'Hi, Strangeness', which is the same name as their popular YouTube Channel where they post the videos of their investigations.
One might consider, how in a place like Omensvale could two paranormal investigators not uncover the secrets of the place? It's the same reason, why none of the investigators that frequent the city uncover much, it's because they're looking too hard. That, and they really don't believe. Quantifying and explaining preternatural phenomena only divorces one from it, and suppresses the phenomena. They are thus, they very people keeping Omensvale from going full blown Hogwart's.
Most of the food is brought in from local caterers. The only things made on site are the warm beverages, wraps, and veggie burgers. Yeah, surprise, no meat. This doesn't discourage the kids, however, who have learned to love the vegetarian cuisine of the 'Dive'. Most of them are there for the ice cream anyway.
Dylan's favourite part of the cafe is his 1950's to 60's collection of horror movie memorabilia, most of it from his own private collection.
