He commonly wears suits and keeps his hair drawn back in a pony-tail, but over recent years has "let his hair down". Spending more time in the woods he dresses in more suitable attire.
When his true from is beheld, Boreas appears as a physical amalgam of Cirrus and a much larger being bearing great purple coloured wings, his eyes shining with cool violet flames. Another form he can appear as is a ghostly winged stallion comprised of mist.

PERSONALITY
Russ prides himself on his professionalism and follows a strict code of conduct in the work-place, expecting all others to do the same. He's basically the proverbial 'killjoy', but outside of work he's a very different; personable, some might even say, happy-go-lucky.
He's the type of person that would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need, always ready to step up, but he's no fool. As much as he like to help, Russ also exercises his fair share of caution.
As an aspect of an elemental god, Russ is naturally conflicted between who he was, and the amalgam he now is. Boreas is the bringer of Winter, one of the Anemoi (the others being Zephyrus, Notus, and Eurus). He was the strongest of them, possessed of a violent temper. The North Wind's wrath was unmerciful, and so to is Cirrus' when pushed. He struggles to control his rage in the face of injustice, the power of Boreas is ever-seeking to rain down godly wrath on all those abusing nature, and there is no shortage of this in the world.
Jealousy is another trait of Boreas that Cirrus must contend with, as well as the need to be revered. The manipulation of the weather is entwined with his emotions and thus he must be ever vigilant to prevent his powers from going awry. Fortunately, as he was once an much older man, he has gained the wisdom to control the power more so than that of a hot-headed youth.
Cirrus has always enjoyed the outdoors. In his youth he was heavily into weight-lifting and physical training, and now rejuvenated, has continued.

THE POWERS OF BOREAS
Cirrus has learned how to use his godly abilities from a scientific perspective. He can manipulate air on a molecular level, generate vacuums and produce oxygen from the water, or increase the moisture in clouds to produce rain. He can also generate powerful gusts of wind, the strength increasing as the weather around him naturally becomes stormier. He can also manipulate his density, become lighter than air and fly on the winds. His density can even continue to diminish to the point that he becomes like air itself, invisible and able to pass through anything not vacuum sealed. This state is difficult to maintain, likened to one holding their breath underwater. If he remains in the state for too long, he can 'pass-out' and remain in the state for an undetermined amount of time, floating about aimlessly.
Heat is an obvious weakness to his abilities. While his body is an elemental state, fire or lightening can be very damaging. In his ethereal form, he cannot manipulate the air, he needs to materialize to exert his control, and as such, he can deprive flames of the oxygen that gives them life, unless the fire is magically manipulated. In this new world of magic, even the most rudimentary of arcanists can 'magic' fire, thus his power over it is limited, especially if tries to use it as a weapon.
ARCANE ARTS
His aspect has provided him with a blanket knowledge of the arcane arts. Always possessing an interest in the occult, Cirrus started to self educate himself on spell-casting and has been able to master a few. Nothing he can spontaneously use. His interests mainly lie in integrating magic with his genetic knowledge.

HISTORY
Doctor Atticus Nordheim worked for a few years in the capacity of a molecular geneticist before his expertise was requested by the NIS, the Norwegian Intelligence Service. As it turned out, he a natural talent for the work. Large and athletic, with a martial background he proved that he could not only handle himself in tough situations, but maintained a clear head. These attribute caught the attention of the Director and before long, he was undergoing training to become an agent. His career took him all over the world, and he missed his opportunity to marry and start a family. He never regretted it.
After a successful career, Atticus retired to America, and started over in the field of molecular genetics for the I.C.O.R. branch located in San Francisco, California. Little did he realize, that even back then, "The Eye" was watching him, but as the years went by their interest waned. Eventually, he retried from work and older, decided to do some traveling.
Now seventy-eight years old, his plane was en route to London, England when there was a mechanical malfunction. The jet went down. It was 2011, May 14th, the day of the Gloaming, and as Atticus clutched the arm-rest of seat for dear life, he was transformed.
He awoke on the sandy shoreline of a picturesque lake. He had no idea where he was, or how he had got there. He was uninjured, but as his reflection in the water became clear he was shocked to see the person he was fifty years ago staring back at him! The details of his life were a blur, a storm of foreign lives raging in his mind. Memories reaching back to the ancient civilizations of man-kind swirled before him, mixing and merging with the life that he had known.
He was found by Jared Waken, who had been fishing nearby. At first he believed Atticus to be another tourist falling out of their boat, but closer inspection told him otherwise. Atticus' first thought was of the plane he was on. What happened to it? It was going down. Jared, humouring the man, took out his phone and they did a search to find that there had been no catastrophic crashes. What they did learn, however, was that the date was July 16th.
Where had he been? Forty three days had passed.
Jared seemed to know more than he was letting on, but Atticus was in no condition to start dissecting the situation. His first priority was to make sense of the jumble of thoughts in his head. Waken only knew of one person that could help him, and so he took the stranger to Crow Cove, and asked Coreen Xiang if she could help him make sense of his predicament. She agreed, putting the stranger up in a spare room in her house, and in the days to follow she would use her magic to clear the clouds of Atticus' mind and explore who and what he was.
In the months that followed, he, Coreen and Jared became friends. In the interim, Atticus helped out at the pub. The routine of the work helped manage his amnesia, and every day he learned a little bit more about himself. Coreen treated him with herbs, and Jared took him out into the community, introducing him to Omensvale and Sterling Forest. Atticus was fascinated with the Lenape legends. To him the they were more than myths, there was a strange truth to them, strange memories of other lives filing in details that others would not have known.
By Autumn, his memories had all but returned, and he was wiser now to what he had become. The preternatural mysteries of the world had been revealed to him as the truth of Jared's and Coreen's secrets were make known. At long last, the truth of Atticus' identities, what he was, and what he had become were understood, and it was time for him to leave. He returned back to San Francisco, back to a life that was no longer his to salvage what he could.
Since the moment his plane had appeared to go down, the world had changed. The alterations were subtle, but after his time in Omensvale, Atticus could see what was happening. His own life was under scrutiny by people who identified themselves as familiar authority figure but he knew they were nothing of the kind. He worked fast, first developing a new identity, then concocting the demise of his former life. The whole process took a year, but in the end he had been able to disperse his capital across several accounts that he could access under his new identity, Cirrus Winter. The name was a pun of sorts, one he assured to have no connection to the former, leaving no traces. It was more difficult to fabricate a life than end one, but through his old connections with Norwegian Intelligence he developed a fool-proof identity, similar to his former. He retained his credentials, and upon his return to Omensvale in 2013, applied for a position at the Apex Institute, and he has worked their ever since in the capacity of a geneticist.
Cirrus moved into a modest home located on Hemlock Island. He has maintained his friendships with Jared and Coreen, and spends a lot of time with Abraham and Artemis Waterstone. While his position at Apex offers a steady income, he amassed more than enough capital to live comfortably on his investments. He maintains the job to keep himself busy and to keep an eye on the happenings within ICOR. He has become a trusted ally of Coreen and Jared, even learned the Lenape language.
While he is not quite yet considered a local, he's becoming attuned to the customs of the land.
