Abraham Waterstone
The Waterstone's have existed in Omensvale since it's humble beginnings, but now all that remains of them is Abraham and his wife, Artemis whom he affectionately calls, "Arty". The professor of biology has since retired from Columbia University, and now spends his days in Sterling Forest searching for the "Hairy Man", otherwise known as "Sasquatch", or more commonly called "Bigfoot". Abraham first encountered the bipedal creature when he his seven years old. He was out fishing with his father on the Jersey side of the lake when he spotted something massive moving through the brush. At first he though it might be a moose, possibly a bear, but as he drew closer he came face-to-face with what would be become his life obsession. Of course it was absurd to believe that a massive bipedal ape-like creature could exist in Orange County. As a biologist, Abraham knew better than most how unlikely the scenario was but he was convinced that if science could not support what he saw then there must be a supernatural answer to unravel.
Waterstone's Bigfoot Discovery Museum and "The Beacon" are the two most well know cryptozoological museums in Omensvale. It' located on the lake-side of Jersey Ave., on Hemlock Island. He and his wife live on the other side of the road. Artemis, a naturalist and herbalist, is known for her tinctures and teas which she sells out of the museum.
Abraham is amiable and humble. A man of science he's not one easily swayed to give into the supernatural despite his preoccupation with the big hairy guy. He's the first to joke about it, but he can't un-see what he's seen, and he's seen the creature on several occasions. Enough to embrace the theory that Bigfoot has to be some-kind of supernatural creature somehow living in a parallel dimension. Not such a far-fetched theory considering the truth of the Gloaming. When confronted with the facts he's the first to admit how preposterous it all seems, but then Sterling Forest is not your typical woodland. He'll attest that that the relatively small area can be expansive. He can't explain it, but you can start out in one place and end up in another. The museum is mainly for the tourists. He doesn't know if what he's seen is Bigfoot or something else, but he's seen something. That much is true.
Once in a while, Abraham will give tours of the places he's seen Bigfoot, or other unexplained things. He can attest that there's more than just Bigfoot out there. He and his wife have seen wolves where there shouldn't be any; no physical trace of them left behind, not even a hair. He's convinced that Apex Institute has something to do with it all, and is a strong proponent against their presence in the community.
